Classic Tillamook Cheeseburger

  1. Form the beef into 4 ½-inch thick patties. Season with salt and pepper.

  2. Heat a large skillet or grilling pan on medium-heat.

  3. Cook the burgers for 4 minutes on each side or until a thermometer inserted in the center reads 155°F.

  4. Top each patty with a cheese slice, turn off the heat and cover until the cheese melts.

  5. Serve the burgers on the rolls with tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, onions and your favorite condiments.

    1. Tip: Want to make your own burger sauce? Mix together 1 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup yellow mustard, 2 tsp dried minced onion (or onion powder), 1/4 tsp dried minced garlic (or garlic powder), 1/8 tsp white vinegar, hot sauce to taste (optional) and pepper/salt to taste. Cover and chill before serving. Looking for more cheese? Add in some shredded cheddar cheese for additional bold flavor.
